OSRS Deadman Mode - Step 2: Gnome Stronghold Achievement Tasks

Feb-12-2026 PST

Once you've completed your Varrock setup and secured early experience and runes, it's time to transition into Step 2 of the Deadman Mode Annihilation route. This phase focuses on the Gnome Stronghold Achievement Tasks, a compact circuit that delivers fast Annihilation points with almost zero risk.

OSRS Deadman Mode - Step 2: Gnome Stronghold Achievement Tasks

The Gnome Stronghold is one of the safest and most efficient regions in Deadman Mode. There's no mandatory combat, minimal player traffic early on, and a high concentration of quick-complete tasks. If executed properly, Step 2 takes only a few minutes and sets you up with extra points, mobility advantages, and useful unlock progress.

Step 2 Overview: Why the Gnome Stronghold Matters

In Deadman Mode, survival is just as important as speed. The Gnome Stronghold offers a rare combination of low danger and high reward, making it the perfect follow-up to your Varrock route.

This step emphasizes:

Achievement Diary–style tasks

Movement efficiency

Point stacking without risking gear or supplies

You'll be in and out before most players even realize where the early points are coming from.

Teleport to the Gnome Stronghold

Your first action is to use the Spirit Tree at the Grand Exchange to teleport directly to the Gnome Stronghold.

Reward: 50 Annihilation Points

This is one of the easiest points available in the early tournament and introduces you to a teleport network that becomes increasingly useful as Deadman progresses. Using the Spirit Tree here also keeps you away from high-traffic PK zones.

Complete One Lap of the Gnome Agility Training Course

Once inside the Stronghold, head straight to the Gnome Agility Training Course and complete a single lap.

Reward: 15 Annihilation Points

You don't need high Agility for this, especially if you've already unlocked the Lightfoot Rune earlier. Even without it, the course is quick and safe. This task is a free point grab and pairs nicely with the movement-focused theme of your early Deadman setup.

Visit Brimstail and Teleport to the Essence Mine

After finishing the agility lap, head southwest to find Brimstail. Speak with him and then choose the dialogue option to teleport to the Essence Mine.

Reward: 15 Annihilation Points

This task is deceptively valuable. It unlocks a teleport option that may become useful later and requires no combat, no gear, and no skill levels. In Deadman Mode, tasks like this are gold because they offer progress without exposure.

Once you arrive at the Essence Mine, simply teleport out using your preferred method.

Terrorbird Deployment: Medium Task Completion

After teleporting out, locate a Terrorbird near the Stronghold. Interact with it and deploy it to a safe location to complete the medium task.

Reward: 25 Annihilation Points

This step is quick, low effort, and often forgotten by players rushing through the area. That makes it a great efficiency pickup, especially since medium tasks tend to provide higher point values for minimal time investment.

Be sure to deploy the Terrorbird correctly before moving on.

Score a Goal in the Gnomeball Game

Next, head north to the Gnomeball field and score a single goal.

Reward: 15 Annihilation Points

This is one of the fastest tasks in the entire Deadman Mode route. There's no skill requirement, no risk, and it can be completed in seconds once you know where to go. It's a classic example of why the Gnome Stronghold is such a strong early-game destination.

Collect Swamp Toads in the Eastern Area

From the Gnomeball field, make your way to the eastern part of the Stronghold and collect swamp toads.

Reward: 15 Annihilation Points

This task requires minimal interaction and keeps you within safe territory. It's another easy diary-style objective that stacks points quickly while maintaining momentum.

Return to the Grand Exchange

Once all tasks are completed, return to the Spirit Tree and teleport back to the Grand Exchange.

This puts you right back into a central hub, ready for Step 3 of your Deadman Mode route—whether that involves combat training, skilling unlocks, or rune investment.

Total Rewards from Step 2

By completing the Gnome Stronghold Achievement Tasks efficiently, you gain:

Over 150 Annihilation Points

Multiple diary-style completions

Access to useful teleports

Zero combat risk

More importantly, you maintain tempo. Deadman Mode punishes hesitation, and this step keeps your progression smooth and uninterrupted.

As the tournament escalates, efficiency becomes increasingly important. Many experienced players streamline their progress by securing resources early, including gear and supplies purchased with OSRS gold. For those who want to save time and stay focused on strategy rather than grinding, some choose to buy OSRS gold through trusted platforms like the RSgoldfast store to stay competitive during critical phases of the event.

Step 2 of the OSRS Deadman Mode Annihilation route is all about safe, efficient point accumulation. The Gnome Stronghold delivers exactly that: fast tasks, low danger, and strong returns.

Complete this step cleanly, avoid unnecessary detours, and you'll exit with a stronger position and a growing point total—perfectly set up for the more dangerous stages ahead. In Deadman Mode, preparation is survival, and this step ensures you're ready for what comes next.
