Updated OSRS Agility Guide: Level 1 to 99
Dec-18-2025 PSTWelcome to my updated agility guide! Over the past few years, Jagex has implemented a variety of changes to the agility skill, making it more rewarding and versatile for players. From increased XP rates to new shortcuts and AFK options, agility training is now more efficient, profitable, and enjoyable than ever.

Recent Updates to Agility
Several significant changes have been made to agility in Old School RuneScape:
XP Rate Boosts: Fifteen agility courses received a 5–10% XP increase, with the Falador rooftop seeing a notable 28% boost.
Marks of Grace: These can now spawn at non-rooftop agility courses, providing more opportunities for completing the graceful outfit.
Agility Shortcuts: A broad range of new shortcuts have been added across the world, including Tavali Dungeon, Mount Kurulum, and the Revenant Caves.
Brimhaven Agility Arena: Adjustments here now provide more XP and profit.
Run Energy Improvements: Run regeneration is faster, especially at low levels, reducing the early-game reliance on the graceful outfit. Overall, run energy drains slower at all levels. From level 1 to 99, run energy regenerates nearly twice as fast, which is useful for questing, exploration, raids like Whisperer, and God Wars kiting methods.
For Ironman accounts, agility is required to make stamina potions. Additionally, level 70 is needed for the Song of the Elves quest (quest cape), and level 90 is required for the Ardougne Diary cape, although a summer pie boost can temporarily reduce the requirement to level 85.
Training Agility: Level 1–33
Questing for Fast Early XP
Questing remains the fastest way to train agility from level 1:
1. Tourist Trap: Levels 1 → 26
2. Recruitment Drive, Depths of Despair, Grand Tree: Levels 26 → 33
Low-Level Training Courses
If questing isn’t your style, several low-level courses are accessible from level 1:
Draynor Rooftop: No level requirement (formerly 10).
Gnome Stronghold Course: Level 1+
Shayzien Basic Course: Level 1+
XP rates: ~10k XP/hour at level 1.
Once you reach level 15, the Brimhaven Agility Arena spike trap method is significantly faster (~30k XP/hour with a summer pie boost). Comparatively, the Al Kharid rooftop at level 20 gives ~12k XP/hour.
Core Training Methods: Level 1–99
On the path to 99, most players will utilize seven primary training methods:
1. Rooftop Agility Courses
2. Brimhaven Agility Arena
3. Wilderness Agility Course
4. Hallowed Seula
5. Quininners Course
6. Apatlon Course
7. Colossal Worm Course
Additionally, niche methods include Barbarian Fishing, AFK Player-Owned House Agility, and spike trap training.
Rooftop Agility
Rooftop courses are the most relaxed method and excellent for low- to mid-level training. You click obstacles in sequence, completing laps while collecting Marks of Grace.
Level 1–99 Efficient XP: ~230 hours
Top Courses: Ardougne Rooftop (best XP), Prifddinas (level 75+), Seers & Pollnivneach for diaries and marks
XP Rates: Up to 70k XP/hour on the Ardougne rooftop with diary boosts
Tips: Use a summer pie to temporarily boost levels and access higher-tier courses early. Plugins like RuneLite’s agility boxes can streamline clicking.
Brimhaven Agility Arena
Location: Eastern Brimhaven
Entry Fee: 200 coins
XP Rates: 30k–70k/hour
Highlights: Navigate obstacles to reach highlighted dispensers for tickets, then exchange tickets for XP and rewards.
Spike Trap Method: At low levels (15–40), repeatedly crossing the spike trap can yield ~30k XP/hour, faster than rooftops.
Recommended Gear: Kuramja Gloves (2+), a graceful outfit, summer pie, food, or stamina potions.
This arena is also ideal for profit by purchasing items like Pirate’s Hook with tickets.
Wilderness Agility Course
Level Range: 47–62
XP Rates: 50k–higher XP with survival
Profit Potential: Up to 2M GP/hour
Risks: Located in the Wilderness, so PKers are a threat. Use anti-PK gear or team strategies.
Entry requires 150k coins. Loot scales with consecutive laps—average 6k GP/lap, rising to 26k GP/lap after 60 successful laps.
Hallowed Seula
The fastest XP method from level 62 to 99, but highly demanding:
XP Rates: 50k/hour (level 62) → 100k/hour (99)
Unlock: Level 52 agility + Sins of the Father quest
Money: 1M+ GP/hour at higher levels
Traps: Priest, Wizard, Knight, Crossbow statues, and blue/yellow teleport tiles
Tips: Use Saradomin items, Mithril grapple, crossbow, and Tile Packs plugin. Private instances reduce interference.
Prifddinas Agility Course
Unlock: Level 75 + Song of the Elves
XP Rates: 50k–70k/hour
Bonus: Crystal shards worth ~300k/hour
Relaxed training: Similar to rooftop courses with portal shortcuts.
Apatlon & Colossal Worm Courses
Apatlon (level 48): Collection log-focused, XP 40–55k/hour, provides Marks of Grace
Colossal Worm (Valore, level 50+): Slightly AFK-friendly, XP 30–42k/hour, provides Valore graceful recolor and agility pet transmog
AFK Agility Methods
Brimhaven Spike Trap: Semi-AFK using detached camera plugins or automated clicking.
Barbarian Fishing: Achieve ~74 agility while training fishing.
POH Agility: Longest AFK times but requires monitoring; XP 1k–12k/hour.
AFK methods are slower but allow multitasking and casual gameplay.
The Agility Pet: Giant Squirrel
Rarity: One of the rarer skilling pets
Chances:
Rooftops: 44% (1–99)
Hallowed Seula: 50%
Brimhaven Arena: 60%
Penguin Course: Best for guaranteed drop (~4M XP)
