Pure Fire Cape Guide
Apr-02-2020 PSTEverybody wants a fire cape. It’s one of the most sought-after items in Old School RuneScape, as it is not only the 2nd best melee cape in the game, it’s a symbol of your expertise in Old School RuneScape. You may be asking, why is it so special? Well, to get your hands on this fire cape, you’ll need to successfully complete the Karamja fight caves, a 63-wave battle against Old School RuneScape’s toughest monsters, such as the level 702 Jad.
Now, the caves are extremely challenging. And as you are a 1 defence pure, it’s even more challenging! Don’t fret though, as we’ve made a comprehensive guide to ensure that you can get the fire cape. Let’s get straight into it.
Recommended Stats
As your defence level is low, you’ll be hit a lot harder, and therefore we recommend you use ranged to not only keep your distance but take heavy shots and stay standing. We recommend you have at least 80 ranged, 80 hit points and 43 prayer.

This is the gear we recommend you use for the fight cave as a pure. On the left, you’ll see the gear most optimal, followed by the next optimal to the right of it. Find what works best for you.

Fight Cave Monsters
Before we get into the strategy guide, let’s quickly run through all the monsters you’ll encounter during your time in the fight caves.
Tz-Kih
Tz-Kih is a level 22 bat-like creature, which attacks via melee. Every hit of this monster drains a prayer point from you, and therefore should be the main priority to kill.
Tz-Kek
Next, is the level 45 Tz-Kek, which attack via melee, and when killed, break into 2 level 22 monsters. These should be the least of your priorities.
Tok-Xil
Next, is the level 90 Tok-Xil, which attacks via ranged and melee. These are dangerous monsters and shoud be your 2nd priority to kill. Pray range when possible against them.
Yt-Mejkot
The level 180, Yt-Mejkot is a giant monster which attacks by melee. Due to their ability to be safe spotted, they should be the 4th priority to kill.
Ket-Zek
The level 360 Ket-Zek attacks with magic and melee and can be extremely dangerous when you are not praying against melee and magic. They are the 3rd priority to kill.
We’ll talk about the other two monsters: the level 702 Jad and level 108 healers a little later!
Safe Spotting
As seen in the map, you can use multiple safe spots to be out of range from certain monsters. You should use the Italy Rock safe spot, as it is the easiest to use. Use the image to see how to do it.
Jad Strategy
Jad, the final boss of the fight caves, has 3 main attacks: melee, range and magic. Melee is not a problem if you keep your distance, whereas ranged and magic cannot be avoided. The difference between his magic and ranged attacks is his feet positioning, where in the ranged attack, Jad slams his feet into the ground, and in his magic attack, he raises them. When you see these visual cues, immediately protect from the respective attack with prayers.
Jad reaching half health spawns 4 healers. To stop them, hit them, and consider walking to line them up in a line. From there, either kill the healers one by one or focus on Jad.
Wave by Wave strategy
