OSRS Custodian Stalker Quick Slayer Guide

Aug-06-2025 PST

Custodian Stalkers are a new monster introduced with Volmor Part 3 in Old School RuneScape. They're easy to kill, decent for loot, and a great way to enjoy some of the latest content. This guide will walk you through the process of unlocking, locating, and battling them.

OSRS Custodian Stalker Quick Slayer Guide

How to Unlock

Before you can fight Custodian Stalkers, you need to complete the Shadows of Custodian quest. It's a quick and simple quest that takes about 10 minutes. You'll need 78 Slayer to attack the monsters, which is also a requirement for the quest.

How to Get There

After the quest, you can reach the Custodian Stalkers by traveling to Auburn Vow using the bird transport system in Barammore. Once you're there:

1. Exit the castle gates to the west.

2. Go down into the cave system.

3. Follow the path until you find a small gap in the wall — this leads to the Stalkers.

You don't need a light source for the cave.

Combat Info

Custodian Stalkers are weak to Slash attacks and also take extra damage from bolts. They have very low defense overall, so almost any decent gear setup will work.

Recommended setup:

Slash weapon like a Zamorakian Hasta or whip.

Melee gear with prayer bonuses.

Protect from Melee prayer active.

Prayer potions and auto-retaliate turned on.

Some food (though they drop sharks often).

You can also use Ranged with bolts if you prefer, but melee is easier and doesn't use resources.

Special Mechanic

Stalkers have a bleed effect, but it's not very dangerous if you're praying melee. Just keep an eye on your health and eat a shark if needed — they drop them frequently.

Loot

The drops are solid for mid-level Slayer. They often drop:

Sharks

Custodian Signet (used for chests, similar to a ring)

Other basic loot like herbs, ores, and alchables

Prayer potions are your main supply cost, but thanks to food drops, you'll rarely run out.

Final Thoughts

Custodian Stalkers are easy to farm, chill to fight, and good for Slayer XP and loot. If you've completed the quest and hit 78 Slayer, they're well worth checking out.
